Wow! You have created your YouTube Channel,
Congratulations! You have set up your channel, created videos, posted videos on
YouTube OR Do you have a YouTube channel with quality videos
but still finds it hard and unrealistic to monetize your channel? Now the Big
Question; How do you Monetize Your Channel? Monetizing a
YouTube may be stressful and unrealistic for beginners and you but, in this
article, I will guild you through step-by-step, how to monetize your
YouTube Channel.
To Monetize your Channel, you need to allow Google to
place Ads through your videos and you get daily or weekly commissions. Now, for
Google to place Ads through your videos you need to meet some requirements
which are explained below.
Requirements for Monetization
For you to monetize your channel, you need to meet some
essential requirements and agree to some policies which include;
1. You need to have 1,000 subscribers on
your YouTube channel
2. Your videos have to generate 4,000 Watch
Time hours.
3. You must agree to all YouTube’s policies and
guidelines
4. You must have an AdSense account
set up.
The YouTube Partner Program
Requirements
The first two requirements (1000 subscribers +
4ooo Watch hours) is called the YouTube Partner Program,
you need to meet all four requirements before your channel will be accepted.
For the 1,000 subscribers; No matter
the timeframe once you reach 1000 subscribers, you’ve reached that requirement.
Also, for 4,000 hours of Watch Time on your
videos. No matter the time frame, once you reach 4000 watch hours,
you’ve reached that requirement. Note: Now you need to
understand that this doesn’t concern the number of videos you have. A single
video can give you 4000 watch hours. This is just
simply calculated by the watch time your video or videos have. For example; if
you have a 20minutes video on your channel and 50 different people come to
watch the full video, that is; through that single video you would have 1000
watch minutes (50x20 minutes) which is equal to 16 watch
hours, do you get the logic now? So, let’s move on.
Now the third requirement is to read through and agree
to all YouTube’s policies and guidelines and the fourth
requirement is to set up your AdSense account and link it to your
Channel.
Now, the third and fourth requirement is very easy and
simple you just need to click on the agree button and also set up a free AdSense
account. But, the first and second requirements look unrealistic for
you and beginners, right? Believe me, it is very possible, you just need to put
these strategies I am about to teach you in place and you are on your way to
having 1,000+ subscribers and 4000+ watch hours.
The 1,000+ subscribers and
4000+ watch hours Strategy
To reach this milestone you need two main steps, which
are:
1. Create Quality Videos: This
is very important and cannot be over-emphasized. You need to create quality
videos, videos people are willing to watch, videos that solve a problem and
that is attractive. Also, this includes having an attractive thumbnail image
(You can check out role models in your niche and find out which style is best
for you). You can create a thumbnail with Canva.
2. Rank your videos with TubeBuddy:
Now, that you have a quality video, that’s still not enough to get this
milestone. To get this milestone, your video must get through to its target
audience. That is, people must see this quality video on YouTube
so that they can like, subscribe and stay to watch (then you get your watch
hours), for you to get the milestone.
Now, this is where many people are stalk and gave up on
YouTube. How do I get people to subscribe to my channel and watch my
videos? The simple answer is you need to rank your videos.
Ranking your video is that when people search for something related to your
video on YouTube, your video should be able to pop-up in the results, with this
you will get people to click on your videos, watch them, and subscribe to your
channel to get notified when you release more quality videos.
To Rank your videos, you just need to have the right
titles, descriptions, and tags. Another question; How do I choose the right
titles, descriptions, and tags? The simple answer is TubeBuddy.
TubeBuddy is a browser extension that
adds a layer of tools directly on top of YouTube’s website. Currently, TubeBuddy
is officially supported on Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. After installing
tubebuddy extension on your browser, and you go to youtube.com you’ll
see its features right. Its features enable you to examine the titles,
descriptions, and tags of already ranked and high-viewed videos in your niche,
and through that, you can structure your video in that same way to get the same
quality and good result.
